Hi Beautiful Friend,

Welcome to the dog days of summer — and to August, National Wellness Month.

Wellness is not just green juice, bubble baths and buying another supplement because someone on TikTok swore it changed her life.

Real wellness means understanding what your body is trying to tell you.

If you are exhausted, gaining weight, waking up at three in the morning, losing your patience or suddenly sweating through your clothes, your body may not need more discipline. It may need better support.

Hormone changes can affect your sleep, mood, metabolism, temperature regulation, sexual health and energy. Yet women are still told these symptoms are simply stress, aging or something they must learn to live with.

Nope. Not on my watch.

National Wellness Month

Small steps your future self will thank you for

August is National Wellness Month — but wellness is not bubble baths, expensive retreats, or pretending stress doesn't exist. Wellness means taking small, consistent steps to protect your health before your body starts waving a giant red flag.

Start moving

Try a new exercise program or simply walk around your neighborhood. The best exercise is the one you'll actually keep doing.

Protect your bones

Ask whether you're due for a bone-density scan — especially after menopause or if you have risk factors for bone loss.

Schedule a dental cleaning

Gum and dental health affect far more than your smile. Prevention is much easier — and cheaper — than repairing years of damage.

Build a smart supplement routine

Depending on your needs, that might include vitamin D, a quality multivitamin, fish oil, collagen, or magnesium. Supplements should fill real gaps, not become expensive confetti in your medicine cabinet.

Review sleep, stress, hormones, and nutrition

Feeling exhausted and 'off' isn't something you should automatically blame on age.

Pick one step and schedule it today. Wellness isn't one dramatic makeover. It's deciding: “Nope — not on my watch. I'm taking care of this body.”

This National Wellness Month, stop settling for half-answers. Hormone Bliss makes it easier to get answers with convenient at-home testing, personalized hormone care and ongoing support, all without sitting in another waiting room.

The Dog Days of Summer

Five ways to stay cool when you're already the hottest chick in the room.

A golden late-summer sky at dusk, evoking the dog days of summer

The “dog days of summer” actually have nothing to do with overheated puppies.

The name comes from Sirius, the “Dog Star,” which is the brightest star in the night sky. Ancient Greeks and Romans noticed that Sirius appeared near the Sun during the hottest part of summer. They believed the two worked together to turn up Earth's thermostat.

We now know Sirius is innocent. The summer heat comes from Earth's tilt and the way the ground and oceans slowly absorb and release warmth.

Unfortunately, knowing the science does not make a hot flash feel any cooler.

When estrogen changes, the brain's internal thermostat can become overly sensitive. A small temperature change may trigger a five-alarm response: heat, sweating, flushing, a racing heart and the sudden need to remove clothing immediately.

Hydrate before you feel thirsty.

Keep cold water nearby and drink throughout the day. Heavy sweating can leave you dehydrated and feeling even more tired.

Dress like an onion.

Wear light, breathable layers that can come off quickly. Cotton, linen and moisture-wicking fabrics are your friends.

Know your personal heat triggers.

Alcohol, spicy foods, caffeine, stress and hot drinks can trigger or worsen hot flashes for some women. Track what happens before yours instead of guessing.

Cool your sleep space.

Use a fan, breathable bedding, a cooling pillow or moisture-wicking sleepwear. Keep a change of pajamas nearby if night sweats are interrupting your sleep.

Treat the cause, not just the thermostat.

Fans and ice water may help in the moment, but frequent hot flashes and night sweats deserve a real conversation. You do not get a trophy for suffering through them.

If you are tired of being the hottest chick in every room, let's find out what your hormones are doing.

A new season

Back to School, Back to You

August can feel like one giant transition. As the kids return to school, give yourself permission to return to you.

Summer Tip No. 01

Forty-seven browser tabs open in your brain

School supplies. New schedules. Earlier mornings. Sports practices. Lunches. Forms. Car lines. And somehow, Mom is expected to remember everything while pretending she is completely fine.

Transitions can be especially tough during perimenopause and menopause. Hormone changes may already be affecting sleep, focus, patience, mood and energy. Add a major schedule change, and even the most organized woman can feel like her brain has forty-seven browser tabs open.

Summer Tip No. 02

Return to you, on purpose

This month, try this:

  • Protect your sleep
  • Put your appointments on the calendar
  • Prepare simple meals before the week gets chaotic
  • Ask for help before you are overwhelmed
  • Stop putting your health at the bottom of the family supply list

You take care of everyone else. That does not mean you should disappear from your own life.

Hormone Bliss brings testing, treatment and support directly to your home. No unnecessary waiting rooms. No monthly pharmacy lines. No being dismissed with “this is just part of getting older.”

Your spark is our mission, and this may be the perfect season to get it back.

A fresh start

Back to School… but What About You?

When the kids head back to school, the house may finally get quieter — but that quiet can feel strange.

Maybe you're bored. Maybe you're working, but your routine still feels off. Or maybe you've spent so many years managing everyone else that you're suddenly wondering, “What do I want now?”

That's not laziness. It's a transition.

Use this season as your own fresh start:

  • Choose one goal that belongs only to you
  • Try a class, hobby, volunteer opportunity, or new fitness routine
  • Reconnect with a friend you've been meaning to call
  • Create structure for your mornings and evenings
  • Check your health — low motivation, brain fog, anxiety, fatigue, and feeling 'flat' can also be hormonal

The kids aren't the only ones allowed to start a new chapter. Buy the cute notebook, make the plan, and put yourself back on the schedule.

You're not “just bored.” You may be ready for something new.

A little treat
